I bought this bike for my 14 year old son. His friends have high end bikes and I just can't see spending a fortune for a bike. This was perfect. Just keep in mind it needs to be put together and they suggest by a professional. There aren't directions for assembly. My dh did put it together and looked up instructions for the brakes by googling it. My son loves the bike and I love not caring if he lays it down on the driveway. I'm sure I would go nuts if I spent $500+ and found it on the ground.
