5 out of 5 stars Very comfortable ride!   July 6, 2010
Betsy N. Lopez (California)
Pretty awesome bike! Very comfortable ride for long distances and makes it nice to go up hills...you don't have to struggle too hard. The handle bars are up and forward so it's nice on your back 'cause you don't have to bend while riding. It's a great purchase. Finding the right bike is hard, but this is a good bet. I bought mine at Sports Authority for $280 so Amazon's price is great.

5 out of 5 stars Best bike I ever owned!   May 3, 2010

I purchased this bike from Dicks Sporting Goods. I am 5'10 and was concerned that it would be too small for my long limbs. However I test rode it at the store and was surprised at how perfect it felt, and fit! The size was just right. For all you tall people out there, don't be discouraged if someone tells you that your legs are too long for this bike. Not true! I am a pretty long legged person and all my concerns were put to rest after I rode it. I purchased the 17" frame with 26" wheels, which is the largest size it comes in. Of course I had to raise up the seat a little, which was fine. As soon as I left the store I rode it on the trails for over an hour, and let me tell you...the ride was incredibly smooth and comfortable, and so much fun! The gear transition is very smooth when you shift them, and the brakes are strong. My favorite feature of this bike is the seat! It is a suspension seat and I love it because it is very comfy and you get a nice little bounce when you ride over bumps. Because it is a suspension seat you may want to raise it up just a little higher than normal because it sinks down just a touch when you sit on it. I never once experienced any back or shoulder strain! The handlebars are high enough and at the right length away so that you will not be hunched over when you ride. Please note that this bike does not come with a kickstand so you will have to purchase one. At Dicks it was $8 and they will put it on for you. To spice up the look of my bike I purchased the Avenir rear bike rack and the Avenir excursion rack top bag. I live near various shoppes and eating places and the bag can hold my stuff nicely if I want to grab something to go, and I can also put my purse and keys in there when I ride to free up my hands. I strongly suggest that if you purchase any accessories for your bicycle that requires assembly, let the technician put on for you before you take it home. It took the tech a good 20 minutes to put the rack on for me, I guess its a lot harder than it looks! Also, in order to carry the bicycle on a car rack, you have to put it on upside down, and the straps will fit snugly over the body. This bicyle is very sturdy and durable, and made of high quality material. I am sure I will be enjoying it for a long time to come. I highly reccomend this bicyle to anyone who loves good quality and comfort, and a sleek looking bike!

2 out of 5 stars Pray you don't need a replacement part   February 6, 2010

The box was crushed in shipping and the brake cable was damaged and didn't work. Customer service has sent us two different brake cables - and neither are the right ones. We are now taking it to a bike shop to have the cable replaced. It would have been easier to have just returned the bike - which seemed silly since the whole thing was assembled and all it needs is a brake cable.

(The replacement parts the manufacturer sent were generic parts that did not fit).

I've ridden this bike before and love it - but my new one is now 2 months old and still hasn't been fixed.

5 out of 5 stars It appears to be a solid bike for the money   February 6, 2010
David J. Hrivnak (Kingsport, TN United States)
The bike seems to be a good bike for the price. Due to the weather we have only ridden it about 2 miles and it takes time to ensure it is really a good value. It took me less than an hour to put it together but I have worked one bikes before so I had a good foundation. For someone who has not worked on bikes the directions are a bit sparce.

The only extra I needed to buy was a kick stand.

The Serene Citi is a very well-constructed bike. It is somewhat a heavy-weight, but has a very comfortable ride. The quality is very good....I would highly recommend this bike.
