Product Description Fr?d?ric Guesdon from France won Paris-Roubiax on clinchers in 1997, possibly the only rider to do so. He was on Michelin Pros. The grippy Pro 3 Race Tire is the third generation of this cobbled-race winner?Michelin puts as much effort into testing its road cycling tires as it does its Formula One racecar tires. With Michelin's Silica Energy rubber compound, these tires' incredible grip and cornering adhesion doesn't come at the cost of increased rolling resistance; they perform superbly in crits and the Roubaix velodrome, too. The Pro 3's HDPP (High-Density Puncture Protector) reinforcement under the center tread gives you exceptional blowout resistance. *Sold individually.

Sucks July 6, 2010 expo Picked up this tire today then rode into Boston. Something punctured the tire, glass maybe. Im going to return this piece of crap tomorrow.
compromises durability for lightness June 8, 2010 Pantucci (Norwalk, CT USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been running Krylion carbons for years with little to complain about. Tried these after a friend recommended them. First ride on them I got a side wall tear that destroyed the front tire. Chalked it up to bad luck and swapped out for a new Krylion. Less than 200 miles later the other of these got a cut from some unknown object that once again spelled the end of the tire. I ride on fairly well kept roads in southern Connecticut. This quality is unacceptable. I'll be using maxxis re-fuse training tires for training rides and krylion carbons for racing from now on.
Love these fast tires! Super aesthetic profile! May 18, 2010 GalCalif (Bay Area, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the Pro3 Race tires. They are light weight, reasonably durable, and very fast and have a really nice looking low profile which I very much like from an aesthetic sense. The only bad thing I would have to admit is that they seem to get cut by glass a little more easily than other some tires I have used (like the Continental 4000s I have used as well). On the whole, I love them! See if you can find them for under $50 US, as they are on sale at times for good prices from different merchants around the globe (not always at Amazon). I like them so much, I haven't bothered to try a lot of other tires, so I can't compare too a lot of others out there.
I have no complaints about traction, or cornering grip. Great ride.
p.s. The Pro3 Grip are just as fast and light, but they wear really really fast. One very very short skid on the Pro3 Grip made a moderate flat spot, for example. These regular Pro3 Race wear a lot longer than the Pro3 Grips.
Well Designed Race Tires May 15, 2010 P. Tangmatitam (So Cal.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been riding on these tires for 4 weeks now. I live in a very crowded area where there are lots of road debris; for the amount that the tires had to endure, I am very satisfied with the results so far. When I used to ride with cheap tires, I did not suffer from external punctures that often. But when I did, glass would be found embedded deep into the previous tires I used.
With the Pro 3's, I have not experienced one single puncture so far. I am impressed with the way these tires were designed. Although the front one is developing some cuts, the tires have proven that: one, they effectively shield against glass; two, the inner layers are resistant enough to withstand piercing, even if the outer layer is cut (the outer layer of any tire is going to be cut at some point, under harsh conditions).
Do yourself a favor and give the Michelins a try. Replacing several tubes and applying multiple patches can end up costing more money and time in the long term, more so than expensive tires that reduce puncture risk to a minimal level, so you might as well buy high-end tires.
A Bust! April 29, 2010 J. Vers (Georgia, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Two of these tires were put on my wife's road bike. Her speed difference was immediately apparent. She could finally coast on downhills and stay with me. She loved them. 100 miles later I looked over the tires and the rear had a split in the sidewall and 3 punctures in the center of the tire. Front also has a puncture thru the center. $85 for 100 miles, sorry we can't afford that kind of mileage. By the way, I run the Michelin Pro Race and have had no issues.
