After looking at multiple tandem bikes online, I ordered this Kent Dual Drive from Amazon. I originally was looking for a more retro looking/classic tandem styling. However, the quality of these style of bike is "cheap and sloppy" in my budget price-range (or Uber expensive with the +$1000 tandem bikes). Thus, although the Kent Dual Drive has a strange tube shape, this bike highly exceeds the quality of any other budget tandem bike on the market.
With Amazon shipping, it came in literally 2 days (free shipping too!). Large box, 67 pounds. The assembly was not too hard - if this is your first time putting together a bike, it will take just a little time... For more experience builders, this is an easy snap to put together: attach the handlebars, seat posts, reflectors, wheels, and snap on the brake cables. Presto Change-O, you have a built tandem bike!
I needed to oil and grease the bike since all of the wheel/gear bearings were dry as a bone. After adjusting the gears a bit and getting the brake tension just right, the tandem bike was ready for the virgin ride.
The bike handles VERY smoothly, takes bumps with a smile, and stops very quickly. One problem is that the over sized tires can make turns a bit tricky to get used to doing. But overall, I am more than pleased with this purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

This is not a review of this bike in particular but it is a review of "Kent Bicycles"
This was supposed to be a great Christmas gift for my son. I will condense the story so not to bore anyone. Took bike out of the box and began minor assembly (petals, handle bar, front tire) no big deal except there was a missing nut for the front wheel (now a big deal as the weather is beautiful and my son wants his new bike)(who wouldnt!?!?!). Wait a week. Received incorrect parts (seriously????). Installed a matching nut from a friends old bike (problem solved). We took the bike outside, aired-up the tires and let him go(HOOORAY!!!). He rode approximately 50 ft and shifted down to 1st gear to climb back up a small hill and a horrible crunching sound was heard. The derailer(sp?)(the thing that changes gears on the rear wheel) caught on the spokes an now is twisted sideways and is lodged in the spokes. Called the manufacturer again. They said they would be happy to replace the damaged parts. I'm not a mechanic no do I intend to learn to be one. I can handle some assembly but if the factory can't handle proper derailer installation, what makes you think I can????? I told them this was not acceptable and I would like to return this bike for a replacement. The person on the phone said someone would call me back "right away". They have my phone number and address and they have made no attempt to contact me as of this note (I have waited a week). To sum it up, DONT BUY THIS BIKE!!! - DONT BUY ANY "KENT" BIKE unless you're a mechanic and don't mind fixing manufacturing problems.

It was delivered in near perfect condition. just one scuff which rubbed off part of a decal.
Amazon had also noted 5-9 days for delivery and it took two!!! AMAZING!!! Only problem is, it almost spoiled the surprise for my girlfriend haha.
Assembly was very simple.
Bike is gorgeous, feels sturdy. Cannot wait to ride!

I have always wanted a bike like this one to enjoy with my daughter on the weekends. I saw the price and was sceptical of the quality. I went to 4 or 5 local bike stores looking for a tandem bike and the lowest priced ones were just under 1,000.00 dollars. I took a chance with this because I have always had great service from Amazon and I knew I could return it with little or no hassle. I made the purchase, the bike arrived in a week. The box was a little beat up but the components inside seemed undamaged. I took it to my local bike store for assembly, they charged me a fair 35.00 dollars to build it. I love this bike, the quality is excellent, the ride and shifting are smooth and most of all, my daughter loves to ride it with me. The bike is definately an attention getter. I have not had any problems with it so far after a couple of months of riding. I would highly recommend this bike for the quality and the great low price.

Was considering a Schwinn Tendem bike for $699 Plus Shipping from a local dealer...I went to Amazon.com and discovered the Kent Brand Bike. And it was a great deal and a really great bike. I would say Much to my surprise, FIRST CLASS.. well Made and a really great deal. It took a bit to get the fenders on but that was it. and two day free shipping was also great. I called customer service and got info I needed to regester for warranty. Try It, you well be amazed at the cash you will save and the qaulity of the product.
